In one year and with a lot of hard work, we transformed an old and shabby fish chalet into a little design masterpiece with enormous potential for value-life balance. The chalet is located in the forest of Franché-Conte, France.
Before doing anything else, the chalet needed a full renovation, including the renewing of the roof, the subceiling, the walls and floor. It was a unique project for all those involved, and we took advantage of various possibilities to create something special.
The work is characterized by an interesting mixture of styles: oriental cement tiles in the sitting room, colorful glass stones as lights, bathroom fittings from the belle-époque and a special color concept, an earthy-brown tone that contrasts with the wood. Little accessories, like a lamp from the ’40s or a thermometer shaped like a steering wheel from a ship, and a fishing net – give an extraordinary ambience of sea and nature.
